Silvia Pimazzoni is a PhD student in Maria Rescigno’s Laboratory of Mucosal Immunology and Microbiota in Humanitas (Milan). She graduated in Biology at the University of Florence in 2020. For her Master thesis, she spent a year in GSK Vaccine in Siena, where she studied the immune escape mechanisms used by HCMV to evade the human immune system.
Her PhD project is focused on the evaluation of the role of some bacterial metabolites, called postbiotics, in skin homeostasis or in diseases such as atopic dermatitis or psoriasis.
