Roberta obtained her master’s degree in “Human Biology” in 2011 at the University of Salento. She then moved to Pavia where she got the 2nd level master’s degree in “Molecular and Genetic Epidemiology” in 2013 and her PhD in “Biomolecular Sciences and Biotechnologies” in 2016. During her PhD, at the National Research Council (CNR) in Pavia, she studied the impact of chronic DNA damage analyzing epigenomic and transcriptomic data through next generation sequencing approaches. In 2013 she got the “Short Term Mobility” fellowship to spend a short period at the University of Tel Aviv in Israel. She joined the laboratory of Prof. Gil Ast where she applied different bioinformatic approaches aimed to the study of alternative splicing events using transcriptomic data.

In 2017 she moved to Humanitas Research Hospital in the laboratory of Experimental Immunopathology and from July 2019 she joined the Bioinformatics Unit. Here she is mainly involved in RNA-sequencing and single-cell data analysis in the field of different research areas.
