Monica Lupi graduated in Physics at the University of Milan. She got her PhD in Life Sciences from the Open University and acquired skills in cellular pharmacology at the Istituto di Ricerche Farmacologiche Mario Negri IRCCS. Her research is mainly focused on the study of the effects induced at cell cycle and cell proliferation levels by the treatment with anticancer agents, merging experimental data coming from different techniques with a robust mathematical analysis. She led research projects concerning the study of new effective drug combinations mainly using in vitro models. She is currently evaluating the effects of Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields) in combination with different anticancer agents as new possible therapy against malignant pleural mesothelioma.
