Dr. Marcucci is an internist and perioperative medicine specialist, with an MSc in Health Research Methodology. Until recently, she had been an Assistant then Associate Professor at the Departments of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact (HEI), and Medicine at McMaster University, and attending physician in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Perioperative Service at Hamilton Health Sciences.

She joined Humanitas University and the IRCCS Humanitas Research Hospital in September 2023, as Associate Professor in Internal Medicine at Humanitas University and full-time member of the Clinical Epidemiology and Research Centre (CERC). She remains a Part-Time Associate Professor at McMaster University, an active Scientist in the Anesthesiology, Perioperative Medicine, and Surgical Research Group at the McMaster-affiliate Population Health Research Institute, and member of the McMaster Institute for Research on Aging.

Her current clinical research program is on cardiovascular and functional outcomes of older patients undergoing noncardiac surgery, with a focus on perioperative frailty and neurocognitive disorders. She has a 15-year experience in a variety of health research methods, including randomized control trials, prospective cohorts and prognosis research, and evidence syntheses.
