Gisella Figlioli graduated in Biology at University of Pisa (Italy), where she also earned a PhD in Biological and Molecular Sciences. She worked as a post-doctoral research fellow for two years in the Division of Molecular Genetic Epidemiology at the German Cancer Research Centre (DKFZ) in Heidelberg (Germany) and for seven years in the Genome Diagnostics Program at the AIRC Institute of Molecular Oncology (IFOM) in Milan (Italy).
During these years, she studied the genetics of hereditary cancers and she specialized in biostatistics and epidemiology. In 2023, she joined Humanitas University as a research fellow in Biostatistics and she is a member of the Clinical Epidemiology and Research Center. Here, she is applying her expertise in biostatistics and epidemiology to research projects and clinical studies aimed at identifying prognostic and risk factors of human diseases.
