Postdoc fellow

Federico Donà is a Senior Postdoctoral Researcher in the lab of Prof. Piscuoglio, within the Precision Medicine Research Lab group.

He obtained his master’s degree in Biomolecular and Cellular Science from the University of Ferrara in 2012. After that, he moved to the UK for a PhD in Cell Biology from King’s College London, which he was awarded in 2018. During his PhD, he studied and characterized membrane-associated proteins involved in cell division. After completing his studies, he moved back to Italy and joined the lab of Dr. Marina Mapelli as a postdoctoral researcher in 2019 at the European Institute of Oncology in Milan. There, he worked to understand the role of cell division in intestinal organoid development and cancer formation using imaging and omics analysis.

Since 2023, he has been finishing his postdoctoral training at Humanitas under Prof. Salvatore Piscuoglio. In his new role, Federico is focusing on establishing lung organoids from patient samples to study the role and mechanism of drug resistance in EGFR-mutant lung cancer. He is using various techniques, ranging from imaging to multi-omics profiling.
