Dr. Borroni graduated in Medical Biotechnologies in 2004, and she received her doctorate in Experimental Pathology and Neuropathology at Faculty of Medicine of University of Milan in 2007. She has been awarded by 3-years fellowship of Federazione Italiana Ricerca sul Cancro (FIRC) that supported her research at Humanitas Clinical and Research Center. From 2010-2015 she was a postdoctoral fellow at University of Milan, including one-year visting scientist at Institut Pasteur of Paris. From 2016, she continued her carrier at University of Milan where she got a position as Researcher and Assistant Professor, and she currently holds a position of Associate Professor of General Pathology and Immunology at Department of Medical Biotechnology and Translational Medicine.
She conducts research in the field of Immunology, mainly in studies on the molecular mechanisms driving innate immune responses and leukocytes trafficking in inflammatory conditions. She was co- and Principal Investigator in several national grants and on these topics, he has coauthored more than 40 research publications in peer-reviewed journals.
