Alessandro Bernardinello graduated with honors in Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at the University of Pavia, where he shown interest in the development of advanced medicated wound dressing prototypes for the prevention of wound infections. Currently, Dr. Bernardinello is a PhD student of the Molecular and Experimental doctoral program on behalf of the Mucosal Immunology and Microbiota Laboratory led by Prof. Maria Rescigno.

The main research focus of Dr. Bernardinello relies on the separation, chemical identification, and metabolic-functional characterization of the chemical species involved in the complex mixtures of bioactive bacterial metabolites which nowadays, thanks to the contribution of Prof. Rescigno and her team, are known as Postbiotics.
