Christina Pagiatakis received her PhD from York University, Toronto, Canada, where she studied mechanisms of vascular smooth muscle cell differentiation through the MEF2C transcription factor.

Her current research focuses on the molecular and epigenetic mechanisms governing cardiac homeostasis, hypertrophy, and ageing, specifically through the study of transcription factor regulation, chromatin remodelling, metabolism and long non-coding RNAs.
