Dr Laura Crisafulli obtained her PhD in Experimental Pathology and Neuropathology from the University of Milan, studying mechanisms of hematopoietic lineage choice and regulators of hematopoietic stem cell identity.
As a postdoc working in the research team led by Francesca Ficara in Humanitas, she investigates the role of micro-RNAs in regulating early differentiation steps of hematopoiesis. She is currently exploring the role of the proto-oncogene Pbx1 in myeloproliferative diseases, neoplasms with a stem cell origin and that display unbalanced differentiation programs.
