The AP-MALDI (Atmospheric Pressure, Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization) operates at atmospheric pressure (requiring zero pumping time after installation) allowing the use of volatile or semi-volatile solvents and matrices in your sample, for new and non-traditional MALDI applications.
The source can be installed on both the Orbitrap mass spectrometer for imaging mass spectrometry applications.
The UHR optical package allows for sub-10 micron laser dot size (imaging resolution). Also, AP-MALDI(ng) UHR includes an upgraded laser: a solid state Nd:YAG laser at 355 nm wavelength with a output frequency is up to 10 kHz.
