Raffaella D’Anna obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mathematical Engineering – Statistical Learning at Politecnico di Milano. She worked on her master’s thesis at IRCCS Mario Negri with the GiViTi research group (Gruppo Italiano per la Valutazione degli Interventi in Terapia Intensiva) in the Laboratory of Clinical Data Science, extracting and analyzing data for the development of pharmacokinetic models as part of the AbioKin project.
She then worked as a Software Developer in a private company, implementing algorithms for the reconstruction and enhancement of radiographic images through image processing. In 2023, she joined the Multiscale ImmunoImaging Unit of IRCCS Humanitas Research Hospital.
Her work involves designing and optimizing the image analysis workflow for optical microscopy and IMC. She collaborates with biologists, physicians, and bioinformaticians to develop custom algorithms, integrating existing ones into innovative analysis pipelines to facilitate the handling of complex datasets. Exploratory data analysis, statistical analysis, quality checks, and visualization of complex datasets are some of the activities she conducts for a broad range of applications, including stochastic simulations and analysis of large datasets of images.
