Postdoc fellow

Dr. Erica Tagliatti got her PhD in Neuroscience and Brain Technology at the Italian Institute of Technology and University of Genoa in Prof. Fabio Benfenati laboratory in 2015, where she focused her studies on investigating the role of the small GTPase Arf6 and Cdk5 in the regulation of synaptic function.

In 2016, Erica moved as Research Associate to Prof. Kirill Volynski lab at UCL Queen Square-Institute of Neurology in London to study the mechanisms behind synaptic function and to understand how de-novo mutations in synaptic proteins lead to neurological diseases.

In 2021, Erica won the High Profile PostDoctoral Fellowship, held by Fondazione Humanitas, to join the laboratory of Prof. Michela Matteoli at Humanitas Research Hospital. She is currently working on deciphering the role of microglia in synaptic dysfunctions in a genetic model on neurodevelopmental disorder.
